Broken Wings

I was singing the Beatles song “Blackbird” the other night and girl came up to me after the song told me about how it was here favorite song. So much so that she got an sweet tattoo of it. I had to take a picture of it.

I have always loved this song and have been very moved by it. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I found out what it was about. I saw Paul McCartney at Coachella in 2009 (what a performance!). He mentioned that they wrote that song about the civil rights movement. I always felt that there was something very powerful in “Blackbird”. It has a lot of history.

To this day, I enjoy playing “Blackbird” out. Its a challenge to play it and focus on the crowd and not look at the guitar but it pack so much history and emotion.
