Las Vegas Local Bands

I am Las Vegan, looking for the sound of the city. Not the sounds of the plentiful tribute or cover bands on the strip, but of original modern music of the city. Yes, there has been some big players coming out of the Vegas music scene. Such as the Killers, Imagine Dragons and Panic! at the Disco. But what about us little people, working the daily grind, trying to get a chance to make and play more music. What is our sound.

We come in 6 in the nation for bars per capita as stated on http://www.haveanight.com. Wow that’s a lot of bars in Las Vegas. So, there must be a lot of music, right? With an emerging art scene and the First Friday arts festival Las Vegas has been livening up for locals. Also, the huge music festival “Life is Beautiful” in late September, could Las Vegas be turning its wheels from the pinch of the all-powerful casinos into a creative mecca?

I have been a little anti-social and withdrawn lately, I don’t know if it’s my age, this town or just a phase but it sucks. So here is my attempt to break out of my shell.
