I really had a good time recording this song with JJ Johnson, Leigh Sogoloff and Vinnie Castaldo at The Tone Factory recording studios. While my original demo version was a Beatles sounding song, I am a lot happier with the way JJ Johnson produced it. It really turned it into a hot groove with lots of flavor. The twisting speaker of his rotatory organ and Leigh’s sexy backups pushed this up into another level. I love how it came out.
“Rescue Car” is like a bullet: a song that goes straight to the point, with no embellishment or ornaments, just substance. The track blurs the line between the raw energy of The Stooges and the catchy melodies of The Kinks, making for an outstanding retro feel with a great rock and roll groove and cool fuzzy guitar leads.
